Die in der Mitte im augenfreundlichen schwarz sind für meinen Mann. Der redet schon seit einiger Zeit an mich ran, dass ich ihm ja keine Socken stricken würde. Dabei hat er immer gesagt, dass er selbstgestrickte Socken eh nicht anziehen würde. Wahrscheinlich hat er noch schlechte Erinnerungen an solche, die ihm seine Oma gestrickt hat: bretthart und tendenziell zu groß. Ich bin immer noch skeptisch, ob er die Socken dann auch wirklich anziehen wird, aber Herrengröße 43/44 werde ich wohl auch so los.
The black socks in the middle are for my husband. He is complaining for a while now that I don’t knit socks for him. Although he always said that he wouldn’t wear handknit socks. I suppose it’s still due to a childhood experience with handknit socks by grandma being too hard and too loose. I am still skeptical whether he really will wear these socks but I guess I would find another “victim” for men’s socks size 10.
Diese Wolle war mal wieder ein klarer Fall von “im Knäuel schöner”. Als ich die ersten Zentimeter gestrickt hatte, war ich kurz davor wieder alles aufzutrennen, vorallem das grün-weiß-gesprenkelte und danach das Blau waren mir ein Dorn im Auge.
Mittlerweile denke ich mir im Gesamtgestrick haben sie was und ich bin ganz froh, dass ich das Stricken beibehalten habe.
This yarn coloring was a typical case of “nicer as a ball”. After the first inch or so I was ready to rip these socks again. Especially the green and white and the blue was a sore in my eyes. Meanwhile they grew on me after seeing the whole sock and I am glad I kept on knitting.
Ich weiß, ich habe lange nichts von mir hören lassen, aber nun ist wieder der normale Alltag eingekehrt - GsD! Kind geht wieder in die Schule, der Mann in die Arbeit und ich arbeite hier die Sachen auf, die die letzten Wochen liegengeblieben sind 
Am Dienstag durfte ich als Elternbeirat die Erstklasseltern mit einem Sektempfang beglücken. Das waren wieder Einblicke in die menschliche Psyche pur! Während die einen Eltern sich nett bedanken und sagen: “Toll, dass ihr das macht” (ich habe ja schließlich nur 4h+ von meiner Freizeit geopfert), stehen andere da und motzen, ob sie nicht auch endlich einen (übrigens kostenlosen) Sekt bekommen. Uns waren zwischenzeitlich die Sektgläser ausgegangen und aus einem Saftglas wollte der Herr das dann nicht trinken.
Gestrickt habe ich auch die vergangenen Wochen, zwar nicht allzuviel, aber trotzdem… Das kommt noch im Laufe des Tages. Ich muss erst die Fotos rüberladen und bearbeiten.
I know you havn’t heard from me for quite a while but finally all is back to normal. DD is back to school and DH back to work, me I am attending to all the things that were left alone during the last weeks.
Tuesday the PTA of our school hosted a reception for the parents of the first graders. This was a ver revealing look into human psychology: while most parents just thank you and say: “Nice of you to arrange something like that” (I only spend 4hrs + of my free time) others are complaining that they didn’t get a glass of (BTW free) champagne yet. We ran out of champagne flutes and drinking out of a juice glass wasn’t acceptable for this guy!
I also knit during the past weeks, not much though. I will post pictures as soon as I have uploaded them from the digital camera.
